Dick

I was going to say something more like how he has joined all the other murderous dictators and leaders who have killed millions in the name of their country or for their own cause. Stalin, Mao, Saddam.
I just like the part about the heroin. And how he begged for his life. The Inquirer cannot fool me, I know he brought down the Playstation network. That's what really pissed off Obama and he had to finally have him done in. "What! No more Black Ops?! Terminate him with extreme prejudice."
Or however you say it.

Despicable Me

Why do I let such time pass me by? Most likely because I'm lazy when it comes right down to it. But then, who isn't in some way or other? (Shaddup!, it was rhetorical).
Lets see. Should I talk about work? Or the 18 posts that are sitting in my edit file, some with headings and no body or some with body but no heading and too rough to post?
I don't want to rant on things. Too easy, and I tend to slip too easily into it.
Since Charlie was in the news last week so much I happened to stumble across this movie which had an early appearance by Mr. Tiger Blood;
Grizzly II: The Predator

Wow! Just seeing the name makes me want to pass by it at Blockbuster. Except for the following from Wikipedia; The film was shot in Hungary in 1983, was never released in theatres or video. It's known as an Urban Legend in film. All the actors parts were shot and the bear was going to be special effected in later. (effected?). When suddenly all work stopped. The best part I find though is the synopsis.
The film is about a park ranger (some actor I've never heard of) who disagrees with his supervisor (Louise Fletcher- Nurse Ratched- One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest-for which she won an oscar!).
Anyways, they disagree over a large rock concert that is going to be held in the area. The park ranger fears the local grizzly population might (might?!) be a danger to the attendees (perhaps like swimming off Capetown, South Africa is a good idea as well!). So of course after a local poacher and three teens get killed by a bear, the park ranger begins to track the bear with a bear activist (didn't think bears needed the help of a activist, seems to me a grizzly doesn't have to worry much about encroachment on their property). Oh and also a bear hunter played by John Rhys-Davies (Raiders and whole crap of other movies). So some other stuff happens, four poachers set out together to try and trap the bear hoping to gain the 100 g's reward money, and of course the unsub (18 foot grizzly) makes it's way to the rock concert, where of course the park rangers daughter is working backstage.
Now I'm guessing that Charlie and some other hack actors that were making their "apppearance" as well, George Clooney and Laura Dern were the first victims.
Ok, just did more useless research for anyone still reading. On IMDB there are quite a few comments about the movie from people who supposedly worked on it. Each person seems to have their own idea of when the movie was made/not made and what was involved. One of them even goes as far as dropping names in true showbiz style because he was so involved when the director lost his mind, he had to take over and finish what he could of the movie....also claims it's called Predator: The Concert (1987), which would confuse anyone of the newer generation thinking it's about the alien Predator. Boy wouldn't they be surprised!
And I've just made myself ill reading this guys comments about people who were nobodies back then.
Pandering, slobbering sleazeball. Glad I'm not in showbiz. And the reason the movie was never finished was supposedly (depending on who you believe, or not) is that is about the time Cannon films went bankrupt, and yes, this would have been their style of film.
Rant at ya later. Cheers.

More Things

Have you seen this lion? Neither have I. The swollen headed neanderthal who resides here and put matching lions out front of his HUGE house on a tiny lot, I believe had this one stolen. And no, I had nothing to do with it. (Wish I did though) There are some people in life you can ignore, and others you just want to punch in the face for stealing your air. I have never met this person, but because he backs onto my neighbour, and put up a tool shed pretty close to their fence and it is higher than the fence. I take offence to him (because my friend does). Which now that I think of it...my friend isn't really a super good friend. I've known them for a long time and they have lots of baggage (who doesn't?). So, I should really get over this guy. He's still in my 2nd group though, just because he has put lion out front. On a tiny frontage. That should be lions, but well, you know the story now.

Money

Broke the garage door yesterday, called a repairman who now apologizes profusely but can't get here until tomorrow at the earliest. I could call another company. Which I may do.
After breaking the door, thought about attempting to fix it myself. However all the websites I visited warned against it due to the springs used and tension that it may fly off and kill me. And since I don't really know how the spring interacts with the door...might be a good idea to spend the money and get someone who knows what they're doing in to fix it.
Which got me to thinking about money. Who thought up this stupid idea that we all work for money or work for some reward? What a dumb idea. Just shows to go you that thousands of years ago, we had the "What's in it for me?" attitude.
So, outside of fixing the house it got me to thinking about the Caymans. Yes, more island talk. Since it's minus 11 outside and the windchill puts it to -20, why not think about the Caymans? ha.
There is a lot, I mean a lot of rich and well off people there. And, since I'm not one of them. How did they do it? Investments? The one good idea? Inheritance? Planning? I don't know. I would like to be one of them, however my 6/49 ticket says I only won 5 dollars. I'll be a while amassing that fortune.
Here is a picture of the house I think I would like.

And it's just been reduced to sell for 2,000,000. Cayman. So that would be about 2.5 mill. Cdn.
And they are including the boat. I'm sure it's not an aluminum runabout. I hope.

I already have a former marine police officer offering to man the gates and make sure all is safe on top of the water and under. I just haven't told him that part of his uniform is when he peels off his drysuit (since wetsuit would make it wet, duh) his uniform is a tuxedo just like in the Bond movies.

Snowday

Today is definitely a snow day. I sometimes wish my work would let us take snow days. Go ahead, kill each other, we're all at home watching Oprah and having hot chocolate! Yes, that would be cool indeed.

I (we- my better half and myself) have just come back from a week in Grand Cayman. Yes, the weather was awesome thank you. First time I had ever been to an island other than centre. My wife says it wasn't like other places she had been (Bahamas, Acapulco, Aruba). Was very Canadian there. Except they do have some rules that the English do, stores open only during the day 9-5 type thing. Left hand driving on the road. The island shuts down or seems to at night. Only two nightclubs there that I knew about. Very dependent on the cruise ships, which my wife had spoken to a t shirt vendor. He said they used to have 7-9 cruise ships in at once, now they were lucky to get 5. Recession hurts everyone it seems.

This was a trip I had won by signing up for a marathon and a running room clinic back in February. We figure the trip cost us just over 2 grand. The hotel and the airfare was free however we still had to eat. I guess we could have eaten more cheaply, but everything was so wonderful and delicious there. Only had two mediocre meals the whole time there. Their dollar is worth what the American dollar used to be like years ago, 1.25 to one of ours.  And we rented a car, that was around 380 Canadian, because we are too used to being independent and I wanted to explore the island. And also ran a half marathon there (which was the whole reason for being there), they tied in their marathon with the Scotia Toronto Waterfront one. Here I am just before the finish.

Yes, very happy to be there. An excellent run which I'd do again in a heartbeat.

About Me

My photo
I work at a 911 centre. Yes, CENTRE! I am Canadian! So, yes I do have some stories. Not as many as you might think as you do tend to get jaded working in that environment for any length of time. And you start to think of everyone as stupid, immature, and wonder how we ever survived the dark ages as a race. We need more chlorine in the gene pool! Most people I find are afraid. Afraid of life, afraid of each other, afraid of failure, afraid of success. You big fraidy cats! Wait till the zombies come, now that's something to be truly afraid of!
